Oook, I know exactly what you’re thinking. “Agh another person hopping on board the blogging train”, or perhaps a simple “why?”
Trust me, it’s not because Betty (as in Betty from Ugly Betty aka best show ever), blogged; therefore, I too must blog.
I have quite a specific reason for wanting to do it. I miss writing. If you don’t know this about me, I am studying engineering at Northwestern University. Basically, I have chosen the single major with the least amount of writing possible. It’s true. If you don’t believe me, I’ll tell you a secret. Throughout the course of my entire freshman year in college, the longest essay I had to write in all my 12 classes was … [wait for it]… three and a half pages long. I kid you not. I’m sure the survivors of twenty page papers hate me a little bit right now, but it’s the truth.
I know perfectly well that it comes with the territory and I chose this major, blah blah, etc. And I love it a lot. I adore math (crazy right??), solving problems, and everything else that comes along with studying engineering. However, there is little room to express myself with words.
So, I am starting a blog (oops pointing out the obvious as tend I to do). Maybe the only people who will read it will be my parents, but at least I’ll be writing. & I promise to fill it with happy words, whatever might come to my mind, only real life, and maybe (hopefully), if you’re reading this, it will inspire you to throw some kindness around like confetti so that everyday can be a party day… yay!
